The Montana Forests Coalition will host a panel discussion and an extensive question-and-answer session on the Forest Jobs and Recreation Act on April 8th at 7 p.m. in the Gallagher Business Building, room 106, at the University of Montana.
Panelists include Tracy Stone-Manning, Missoula Field Representative for Senator Tester; Loren Rose, Pyramid Mountain Lumber; Tony Colter, Sun Mountain Lumber; Jack Rich, Rich Ranch Outfitting; Bruce Farling, Montana Trout Unlimited; and John Gatchell, Montana Wilderness Association.
The discussion will focus on exactly what the Forest Jobs and Recreation Act, introduced by Senator Tester in 2009, means for Montana and specifically for Missoula. This legislation will designate the first new Wilderness in 27 years for the state of Montana, create good paying jobs and protect four major tributaries of the Clark Fork River.
In a truly progressive collaborative effort, conservation organizations, loggers and recreation enthusiasts have come together to create workable solutions to generating and sustaining vibrant rural economies and maintain healthy forest landscapes for future generations. Please come and find out more, and be a part of, the future of conservation in Montana.
