Letter: Bill recognizes Seeley Lake’s value

Seeley Lake is the best kept secret in western Montana. We have majestic mountain peaks, crystal clear trout streams, bottomless lakes and abundant wildlife. As a community, Seeley Lakers recognize the value of the environment we live in, and we have worked proactively to maintain this environment in its pristine, natural condition.

Sen. Tester also sees the value of Seeley Lake and has recently introduced legislation that will, in part, give Seeley Lake the resources it needs to properly manage its forests, make better use of wood waste, and protect 87,000 acres of roadless country adjacent to the Bob Marshall and Mission Mountains wilderness areas.

I applaud the senator for introducing legislation that will make tangible, positive differences in the environment we live in.

In conclusion, I would like to leave you with this thought: From the west slopes of the Mission Mountains to the east slopes of the Rocky Mountains, including the Swan and Clearwater valleys and the Bob Marshall Wilderness, this is the only intact wilderness in the lower 48 states. Thank you, Sen. Tester, for helping protect it.
